Excerpts from our exclusive interview with Prriya:
Could you please talk us through your background and your journey?
My journey has been quite an interesting mix of science, wellness, and personal discovery. I have a Master’s in Chemical Engineering, so I come from a strong science background. But my connection with wellness started way before that—I’ve been practising yoga since the age of eight.
Along the way, I also became a certified nutritionist, and as I worked with people on their meal plans, a common question kept coming up:
a) How can I gain weight without my face looking puffy?
b) How can I lose weight without my face looking too skinny?
This sparked my curiosity about face yoga. Around the same time, I had a small accident that led to ptosis (drooping) in my right eyebrow. No treatment seemed to work in restoring the sensation or improving the droop—except for face workouts. That personal experience led me to deep-dive into the world of face yoga, and eventually, I became a certified Face Yoga Instructor and a Face Cupping expert.
What started as curiosity and a personal challenge turned into a passion and a career, and now, I’ve had the privilege of helping thousands of people transform their faces naturally.
How did you discover your passion?
I think passion often finds you when you least expect it. My journey into face yoga started with a mix of curiosity and personal need.
As a certified nutritionist, I kept getting questions from my clients about maintaining facial harmony while gaining or losing weight. That got me thinking—why don’t we focus on facial muscles the same way we do with the rest of our body?
Then, life threw me a challenge. After a small accident, I developed ptosis (a drooping eyelid) on my right brow. I tried everything—medical treatments, and exercises, but nothing worked. That’s when I started experimenting with face workouts. And to my surprise, not only did it help me regain sensation and lift my brow, but it also transformed my overall facial structure.
That’s when it clicked. If this could work for me, it could help so many others. So, I dived deep, got certified, and turned this discovery into a passion. What started as personal healing is now something I love sharing with thousands of people worldwide.
Who do you believe has been the biggest source of motivation in your daily life?
Without a doubt, my biggest source of motivation has been my mother. She introduced me to facial exercises when I was getting married at 25, long before face yoga became a trend. Back then, we never asked for certifications or questioned the science—if mom said it worked, we trusted her. And she was right!
But beyond just skincare, she taught me something even more valuable—to be my best beautiful and never compare myself to beauty magazines or unrealistic standards. She believed that true beauty comes from self-care, self-love, and confidence—not from looking like someone else.
She was deeply rooted in naturopathy and holistic wellness. For her, skincare wasn’t just about applying face packs; it was about what you eat, how you live, and how you feel about yourself. Growing up, I watched her create simple yet powerful beauty rituals using natural ingredients, always emphasizing that glowing skin starts from within.
Now, with the overwhelming pressure of social media, unrealistic beauty standards, and those heavily filtered, ‘flawless’ faces everywhere, I see so many people struggling with self-image. That’s why I encourage my audience to embrace their best beauty, just like my mother taught me. Face yoga isn’t about chasing perfection—it’s about feeling good in your own skin, ageing gracefully, and loving yourself at every stage.
Her wisdom shaped my journey, and now, I try to pass that same message on to everyone I work with. Self-care isn’t vanity; it’s self-respect. And self-love? That’s the most powerful beauty secret of all.
What are some of the strategies that you believe have helped you grow as a person?
Growth is a continuous process, and for me, it’s been shaped by a combination of discipline, curiosity, and self-awareness. A few key strategies have truly helped me evolve both personally and professionally:
Embracing Lifelong Learning – Even though I started with a background in science and chemical engineering, I never stopped learning. From becoming a certified nutritionist to diving deep into face yoga and face cupping, I constantly seek knowledge. Growth happens when you’re open to new experiences and willing to step outside your comfort zone.
Practising Consistency Over Motivation – Motivation comes and goes, but consistency is what creates real change. Whether it’s yoga, self-care, or building my brand, I show up every day—even when I don’t feel like it. Small, consistent efforts always add up to big transformations.
Prioritizing Self-Care Without Guilt – As a mother and an entrepreneur, it’s easy to put yourself last. But I’ve learned that taking care of myself—mentally, physically, and emotionally—isn’t selfish, it’s necessary. Whether it’s my face yoga routine, eating right, or simply taking a break, I make self-care non-negotiable.
Not Comparing My Journey to Others – My mother taught me to be my best beautiful, and I carry that into every aspect of my life. Social media can make you feel like you’re always falling behind, but I’ve trained myself to focus on my progress, my journey, and my unique strengths.
Turning Setbacks into Stepping Stones – My accident, which led to ptosis in my right eyebrow, could have been something I just accepted. Instead, it led me to discover the power of face yoga, which has now become my life’s work. Every setback is a lesson in disguise, and I choose to see challenges as opportunities for growth.
Helping Others and Building a Community – True growth isn’t just about personal success—it’s about uplifting others. Whether it’s through my face yoga practice, nutrition advice, or simply sharing positivity, I believe in giving back. The more I help others grow, the more I grow as a person.
At the end of the day, growth isn’t about becoming someone else—it’s about becoming the best version of yourself. That’s what I strive for every day.
In your opinion, what are the keys to success?
Success isn’t about a final destination—it’s about the journey, the growth, and the impact you create along the way. For me, it starts with passion, but passion alone isn’t enough. Purpose gives it direction, discipline fuels it, and consistency keeps it alive.
There were days when I doubted myself, when motivation faded, but I kept showing up. That’s the difference between those who dream and those who achieve—discipline over motivation, always.
Success also comes from adaptability and a constant hunger for learning. I started my journey as a chemical engineer, became a certified nutritionist, and then found my true calling in face yoga. Every step led me closer to where I was meant to be because I was open to evolving.
And in a world obsessed with filters and unrealistic beauty standards, I’ve learned that authenticity is the real superpower. My mother always told me to be my best beautiful, not someone else’s version of it. That lesson has shaped not just my career, but my entire life.
But if I had to choose just one key to success, it would be this: Give more than you take. True success isn’t measured by numbers, fame, or wealth—it’s measured by the lives you touch, the confidence you restore, and the change you bring.
Every time I help someone feel good in their own skin, every time I see someone regain their confidence, that’s when I feel the most successful. Because in the end, success isn’t about how much you achieve for yourself, but how much you give to the world!
What advice would you give to our readers?
If there’s one thing I want everyone to remember, it’s this—self-love is not selfish. Taking care of yourself, prioritizing your well-being, and making time for what nourishes you isn’t an act of vanity, it’s an act of necessity.
You cannot pour from an empty cup. When your cup is full—when you are mentally, emotionally, and physically cared for—you have so much more to give to the world.
We live in a time where we glorify hustle, self-sacrifice, and always putting others first. But the truth is, the best version of you—the one that loves deeply, gives fully and shines the brightest—only exists when you take care of yourself first. Whether it’s practising face yoga, eating well, taking a break, or simply speaking to yourself with kindness, self-care is not a luxury, it’s the foundation of everything.
One of my favourite life quotes is, “You owe yourself the love that you so freely give to others.”
